FastBreak 5K Raises Thousands for Clear Lake School District

The 9th annual FastBreak 5K, sponsored by Clear Lake Physical Therapy and Rehab Specialists (CLPTRS), was once again held during Clear Lake Heritage Days. The race was run on Saturday morning, June 25. It was a humid and cloudy morning, thankfully the rain held off until the very end of the event.

The race began and ended at the Clear Lake High School, with the 3.1-mile course making its way through town.

There were 55 runners participating in the FastBreak 5K this year and we were excited to bring back the  Kids Fun Run!  19 children participated, most sprinting their fastest, some of the little ones holding the hand of a parent. The kids fun run was organized and sponsored by Northern Roots Family Spinal Care.

Through this event, almost $4000 was raised to be donated to the athletic department of the Clear Lake school district. Even though our participant numbers were lower than previous years, it was the second largest amount raised to benefit our local athletes.

There are many people needed to pull off this annual event. CLPTRS would like to thank volunteers Tasha, Angela, Jeni, Sam, Angie, Gracie, Kaylee, Jeremy, and Bailey for their time and efforts and Neil for our t-shirts. We would also like to thank our Platinum Sponsors Northern Roots Family Spinal Care, First Bank of Baldwin, Kivlin Eye Clinic, Specialty Coating Systems, Grosskreutz Crop Insurance, Oxbo, and Sawmill Pizza & Brew Shed. Thank you to the 13 area business Gold Sponsors and the six businesses who were Silver Sponsors.
